International Agri-food Lecture: AMAP – Redefining French Community Supported Agriculture
25. April 2017 um 17:00 - 19:00
Vortrag von Dr. Jean Lagane, Laboratoire méditerranéen de sociologie, Aix-Marseille Université, France
In France recently a substantial growth of AMAPs (Association de Maintien de l’Agriculture Paysanne – Association for the Maintenance of Farmers’ Agriculture) can be observed. These are Civic Food Networks where consumers and producers enter mutual agreements and share the risk of production collectively.
Drawing on ethnography and qualitative interviews with farmers and consumers in Provence, the lecture compares AMAPs with other forms of Community Supported Agriculture like the Japanese Teikei.
Jean Lagane is an environmental social scientist, member of the Mediterranean Laboratory of Sociology in Aix-Marseille University. He studies Human/Nature relationships and addresses themes such as urban transition to sustainability and Alternative Agri-food Food Networks in the Mediterranean and Japan.
