A Social Enterprise for Social Justice

Lester A. Myers is an attorney, CPA, and professor of philosophical ethics. He will discuss the history and work of Center of Concern to research, educate, and advocate for global social justice from Catholic social tradition, including engagement with civil society, faith-influenced, intergovernmental, corporate, and educational organizations.
The Center began at the UN in 1971 as a joint project of the Jesuits and U.S. Catholic Bishops.
Today the Center focuses on global finance and human rights; education of girls and empowerment of women; integral ecology (including Laudato Si‘); advisory services for governance and philanthropy; and social justice education, featuring Education for Justice.
We invite colleagues from the global development, civil society, social service, and university communities and the public to participate in this discussion about how the resources of Catholic social tradition can help promote global social justice and care for our common home and one another.
